A day at the Commonwealth

Intro
I don't actually have tickets to see the actual Commonwealth Games but yesterday I went to the Glasgow Green. There were so many things to see.

My Photo skills there...

A Ferris Wheel Experience!
So... I went on a massive Ferris wheel! It was the one from M 'n' D's. They had brought it to the Glasgow Green! Here are some pictures I took...

View from the big wheel

The Peoples Palace
I went to visit the Peoples Palace for a short while. (I didn't go into the museum bit.) I took a couple of pictures of some plants.

And here is a photo of a model of the Peoples Palace...

The Doulton Fountain

Sorry some of them aren't the right way.

The Templeton Carpet Factory
This Factory is over a 100 years old! Here is a Website about it.

Virgin Media Race Bolt
What is it- A really long stage with a track 20-30 metres long with a massive screen the same length next to it. People sign up to do it and they say there team name or individual names and it comes up on the board. The person/group of people get ready on the track and Bolt comes up on the screen in a running position. When the beep goes the person/group of people and Bolt start running and basically the person/group of people have to try and beat Bolt.

The Barbados Rugby sevens came to Glasgow and they tried it. There were 5 of them so three of them went first...

3,2,1... Go

They were so close. I'm pretty sure they lost by 0.11 seconds or something!

So after the first three the last two went...

The one standing up is called Jay he had already down Race Bolt before and is the fastest person who has ever done it!

Guess what? Jay beat Bolt with his friend just behind him!!!!! Bolt has been beaten!!!!!!!

Sierra Leon Refugee All-Stars

There was lots of music and the Sierra Leon Refugee All-Stars where a hit :)

That's it for now Folks! (I Love that!) Anyway... That's the end of this post... see you later :)

Writing a fiction book

Intro
I love writing books but I find it hard to start it off. So for my second post I will talk about writing a fiction book. I suppose it's sort of a guide to starting of a book so I hope it helps!

First step
To start off with you need to know what kind of book you are writing. Here are a few genres if you need any help-

  • Adventure- some one or a few people go to search something, save some one or escape from some where. Lot's of things happen some expected some not.
  • Fantasy- Involves magic. There are mythical creatures you could use such as a dragon, wizard, a hobbit, an elf, an ogre, a troll ext.
  • mystery- Basically there is a mystery and some one or a few people are going to try and solve it.
  • horror- Horror involves guts and blood. The characters involved could be assassins, murderers and killer ghoul. (Just some character ideas. You can make up your own.)
  • Thriller- Fast moving and exiting. A lot of the time involves spies. A famous thriller series is Alex rider by Anthony Horovitch.
  • Crime- There is a crime and people are going to either catch the bad guy and there will be a big chase or it's a bit like the mystery genre where people are going to solve the crime. Basically find out who did it.
  • Comedy- A funny book is generally for kids. An idea would be a little boy who gets up to no good. Make sure to add good jokes here and there.
  • Tragedy- Something bad has happened and the main character has to cope with it. < example (I don't normally write tragedy books, sorry)
  • Science-fiction- Futuristic, advanced technology such as robot servants, time machines ext. There might be aliens too! They are always fun to make up!
  • Western- Cowboys, horses, guns and a sheriff! Here are some main features of a western book now what happens?
  • Romance- I find Forbidden love the most interesting. But just normal love is good too. How did the lovers meet and where? What do they do? Is it a happy ending or a sad ending?
  • Historical fiction- you need to have good facts about the time period your book is set in. Some time ideas would be ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, ancient Rome, world war 1 or 2.
  • Animals- A person and an animal have a true bond for example. As long as an animal is mainly involved or it could be a person saving an animal ext.
  • Some ones Diary- Make up a character and write his or hers diary. It's one of the simplest book genres. What will your character get up to? What will he or she put in his or her diary?

Second step
Now you need a setting. Is it in a town, village or city? Don't hesitate to make up a place or use a real place.
